Animal Advocate Patch Program

Product Number: MF-4533A

Girl Scouts who are passionate about keeping animals safe will want to earn the Animal Advocate patch. Your troop may have some ideas about how they want to help animals. If they need inspiration, some of these questions might help. Are there areas in your community that need animal crossing signs to keep drivers alert? Are the shelters in your area getting the support they need to care for all of the animals who need homes? Do local animal rescue organizations need help getting the word out about what they do? Is there a need to educate people in your community about what to do when they find an injured animal?

Girl Scout Patch Program

This 2″ iron-on embroidered fun patch is part of our patch program.

How Girls of all levels can earn the Animal Advocate Fun Patch:

Your troop may have some ideas about how they want to help animals. If they need inspiration, some of these questions might help:

Are there areas in your community that need animal crossing signs to keep drivers alert?

Girls can contact the Highway Department in their town to find out how to get animal crossing signs added.

Are the shelters in your area getting the support they need to care for all of the animals who need homes?

Girls can ask their service unit to ‘adopt a shelter’ and run supply drives annually.

Do local animal rescue organizations need help getting the word out about what they do?

Girls can prepare flyers or a video to help share what the rescue organization does.

Is there a need to educate people in your community about what to do when they find an injured animal?

Girls can meet with a local veterinarian, town animal control or animal rescue organization to find out the proper ways to help injured wild animals and who should be contacted. Prepare flyers or a video to share with the community.

Earn a wildlife patch. Mallory, Ellie, Mackenzie and Abby built new hones for injured squirrels and ground hogs that live at their local animal rescue center. Tree house Wild Life Center in Dow IL.
