Your troop may have some ideas about how they want to help animals. If they need inspiration, some of these questions might help:

Are there areas in your community that need animal crossing signs to keep drivers alert?

Contact the Highway Department in their town to find out how to get animal crossing signs added.

Are the shelters in your area getting the support they need to care for all of the animals who need homes?

Ask their service unit or community to ‘adopt a shelter’ and run supply drives annually.

Do local animal rescue organizations need help getting the word out about what they do?

Prepare flyers or a video to help share what the rescue organization does.

Is there a need to educate people in your community about what to do when they find an injured animal?

Meet with a local veterinarian, town animal control or animal rescue organization to find out the proper ways to help injured wild animals and who should be contacted. Prepare flyers or a video to share with the community.
