This patch program not only teaches the essence of teamwork through fun and engaging activities but also nurtures essential life skills like communication, creativity, and problem-solving. Each activity is a stepping stone for the scouts to learn how to rely on one another and appreciate the diverse strengths within a team.
Suggestions for how Scouts can earn the Teamwork Patch:
Activity Requirements (Complete 4 of 6):
1. Team Tower Challenge
Objective: Build the tallest tower using limited materials.
Materials: 20 straws, 20 pieces of tape, and 1 pair of scissors per team.
Instructions:
– Divide the scouts into small teams (4-5 members).
– Each team has 20 minutes to build the tallest freestanding tower using only the provided materials.
– After time is up, measure the towers. Discuss what strategies worked and what didn’t.
Reflection: What roles did each team member take? How did you communicate during the challenge?

2. The Puzzle Race
Objective: Complete a jigsaw puzzle as a team.
Materials: A jigsaw puzzle and a timer.
Instructions:
– Teams must work together to complete the puzzle within a set time (e.g., 30 minutes).
– However, each team member can only touch the pieces from one corner of the puzzle.
Reflection: How did you coordinate movements? What challenges did you face in this limitation?
