Description
2″ Embroidered Iron-On Patch.
This 2″ iron-on embroidered patch is part of our patch program®.
Objective: The Sign Language Patch Program aims to provide Girl Scouts with the knowledge and skills necessary to begin to communicate effectively using sign language. Through this program, scouts will gain an understanding of deaf culture, develop basic sign language proficiency, and promote inclusivity within their communities.

2. Print the finger spelling download attached to your order confirmation. Use the download to learn to finger spell your name. Practice until you can spell it without looking at the worksheet.
3. Print the color download attached to your order confirmation. Use the download to learn how to sign the colors on the worksheet.
4. Print the sign language scavenger hunt attached to your order confirmation. Use the answer key to learn how to sign the words for the clothes. Put the answer key away. Fill in the names of the clothes. Find as many of the articles of clothing as you can in the room you are in.
5. Print the sign language family matching game attached to your order confirmation. Study the signs for the types of family members. Cut apart the signs and the words. Mix them up and match them back together.

- Print the gestures download attached to your order confirmation. Fill in the answers and use the worksheet to memorize the gestures. Practice with a partner until you can do them naturally.

I ordered this patch for my Girl Scout troop after we had an ASL interpreter come and present information about deafness and sign language. It’s a cute patch, and it’s an easy shape to sew on, if parents want to do that.
