Use colorful fabric scraps and yarn to make a clothespin doll for an African Country
You need:
- Flat Slotted Clothespins or Baby Flat Slotted Clothespins
- Two Wooden Kitchen Matches
- Brown Paint and Brush
- Embroidery Floss or Yarn for Hair
- 1/4″ Satin Ribbon
- Scrap Fabric
- Scissors
- Craft Knife
- Fine Point Marker
- Tacky Glue or Low Temp Glue Gun
Instructions:
Cut the heads off two kitchen matches with a craft knife. Use a glue gun to attach one to each side of the clothespin for arms. Paint brown. Let dry. Cut a scrap of fabric to fit around the body of the doll with overlap. Glue around the chest and back, making a pleat under each arm so the fabric fits loosely around the doll.
Wrap floss around two fingers to make hair. Tie with a small piece of floss and cut loops. If using yarn twist the strands apart to have the loopy yarn shown in our picture. Glue to doll head. Draw on details for face.
