April is ASPCA month. In honor of animals everywhere, we challenge you to complete a shelter-related service project by April 30th. In exchange, we will choose one troop to reward with $100 in store credit from MakingFriends.com

We reached out to The ASPCA to help us with this challenge. Michele Lago, a program manager in the Shelter Outreach department helped us put together the this challenge.

Here’s how your troop can participate:
1) Sign up below.
2) Choose your service project.
3) Set a goal.

Daisy Troop #34410 in Buffalo, NY just collected donations for our Animal Shelter. They also had a speaker and Darby show up to teach them about how to be nice and take care of animals. Because of this my Daisies now have a Civic Action Project they want to do for the City of Buffalo! I’m so proud of my Daises.

We helped a local shelter who takes donated clothes to families in need of clothes items for thier children. We helped organized by size to help the shelter to easily distribute. We are 90770, from Stow, Ohio. Even greater news, the person in charge at the shelter has contacted us to come back and help some more!

Our junior troop 60920 did a service project for our local city shelter, Rochester animal services, in Rochester NY. They worked as a team to make fleece blankets for cats and over 300 homemade dog treats. They then spent 2 hours reading books to the animals to help aid in their socialization. We also invited 2 daisies to help.
