Girl Scout Adulting Patch Program® - self Care Skills

Our Self Care” patch program is designed to help girls develop healthy habits and practices that promote self-care and overall well-being. Through engaging activities and discussions, girls will learn about the importance of self-care and explore various strategies to take care of their physical, emotional, and mental health. By completing this program, Girl Scouts will earn a patch as a symbol of their commitment to self-care.

Suggestions for how younger girls can earn the Self Care Skills Patch.

  • Girl Scout Self Care Patch ProgramDownload the “What Should You Do” worksheet provided with your order confirmation. Each scenario represents a situation you may find yourself in. How you handle yourself will represent your level of maturity. Circle the letter that best represents an adult behavior. There many be more than one right answer. Discuss why you chose your answer.
  • Download the “Take Care of the Whole You” worksheet provided with your order confirmation. You probably know how important it is to take care of your body (physical health.) But it’s also important to take care of your brain (mental health) and your feelings (emotional health.) In the spaces provided on the download, write, draw or glue pictures of something you can do to take care of yourself. Many activities can go in more than one category. Try to think of at least three more things for each category.
  • Physical Health (complete 1)
    a. Learn and practice basic stretching exercises or yoga poses.
    b. Prepare and enjoy a healthy snack or meal together.
    c. Set personal fitness goals and track progress for one week.
  • Emotional Health (complete 1)
    a. Create a feelings journal to express emotions and thoughts.
    b. Write a letter to yourself highlighting your strengths and achievements.
    c. Explore different relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, or meditation.
  • Mental Health (complete 1)
    a. Learn about the importance of positive self-talk and create an affirmation jar.
    b. Engage in activities that stimulate the mind, such as puzzles, crosswords, or brain teasers.
    c. Develop a personalized bedtime routine that promotes relaxation and better sleep.
