Awesome Product More than enough their for the Scouts to try. They were so excited about doing all the activities.

  6. :

What exactly comes in one kit for the girls? Does the paper maker come with each kit or is that an additional ?

    • :

Troop kit comes with paper making supplies for up to eight girls. Thanks for your interest.

  7. :

The Juniors had a WONDERFUL time with the activities included in the package. They were really busy and engaged utilizing the materials which really complemented the Journey book. I would highly recommend this product for anyone attempting to complete this Journey. The girls left satisfied after completion of the Get Moving! Journey in a Day program.

Just got my kit in the mail and it is AMAZING! my daughter and I looked thru everything were both are really excited to get started. The crafts are great, the instructions are easy and love the online teen role models that go with it. Will post again once we are finished.

Some of the lesson is a stretch when following the journey leader guide but we have adapted and made it work. I would use again. I have ordered many badge in bags and journey kits for all age levels and I am happy with all of them.

  10. :

Last year as brownies, my girls HATED the journey. I told them we wouldn’t do another one. BUT! On a hunch I order this kit and we looked it over as a troop. Now they can’t wait to start!

  11. :

We had 50 girls get together to do this project. 2+ parents helped at each of the 6 stations. The girls completed each project while one adult went through the lesson. The girls participated in the discussion while they completed their project. I was nervous about the projects being boring but the kids were thrilled with everything. They all use their insulated bags at school and want more supplies to make them as gifts. The paper making process was the most fun for the majority of girls. They used glitter, cinnamon and 10 other little “flavors” to the process. The parents had a blast too. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST JOURNEY MY GIRLS HAVE EVER DONE! We will do all of them with the Brownies that are bridging to Juniors next year!

  12. :

My Junior troop hosted a Lock-in for other Juniors in the Service Unit to complete the Get Moving Journey. I have had good experiences with MakingFriends products in the past, so we got this kit and the girl’s kits to go along with it. The day was great!!! The kit had great instructions, and we needed only a few things from our troop closet to make it all complete! Awesome job, Making Friends, for putting this Journey kit together!

  13. :

So far so good! My girls are really enjoying this Journey and we can thank no one but http://www.makingfriends.com!!!

  14. :

My troop is doing a summer journey and this is our first time using your journey in a bag. As a troop leader, the journey in a bag is wonderful because it provides you with a schedule of activities to use and how to incorporate every aspect of the journey with the projects and with the lessons from their books. The girls love the projects. We made paper, a wind stopper, a bag out of the t-shirt and all of the other projects. They also enjoy the word search games, we incorporate every word that they are looking for into our discussions. The girls want to earn monies by making some of the projects that they did for the holidays. I have recommended your journey in a bag to other troop leaders. I will be purchasing our next journey in September. Thank you!!

  15. :

We only have 3 Juniors bridging to Cadettes at the end of the month. They wanted to achieve the journey summiit before bridging. We bought the the troop kit and 3 girl kits. The purchase was great but we had the $ to spend. For troops working on a tight budget, I would really give careful consideration. While they advertise it a the Journey in a bag, you will still additional supplies. Make sure you read the instructions BEFORE the planned sessions. You will need stuff. While the additional supplies are easy to find household stuff, you need to be prepared.

  16. :

I like how the activities were divided; alone time, group discussion, hands on group activities, reflection time, etc.

  17. :

Our troop really enjoyed this journey. As full time workers and leaders this was a great investment for us. Although, some additional supplies needed to be purchased. It did all the work for us!

  18. :

We did it all in one weekend of camping. The girls loved all the crafts and just kept saying how much fun they were. I recommend the paper making. I think it was their favorite part. We made both the sheet and the paper balls with glitter. Thank you! We will be purchasing more.

  19. :

We bought enough Energy Journey in a Bag kits for 20 girls. We decided to do a “Journey In A Day” program since our girls usually do not like completing the journey. It made for a GREAT day. The girls loved the activities/projects and the adults loved that everything was so organized. We just had to collect the items listed in the instructions and all was good. I would suggest reading through the materials before trying the activities. Some of the instructions are a little tough to understand on the fly. Also, check your materials before you are ready to use them. We were missing some pieces from some of our girl bags. Fortunatly, we were able to figure out solutions without much interuption. When I contacted Making Friends to tell them of the error they were able to send us the missing supplies to make up for the difference. All was good in the end. Overall, I know I will use the products again. It made my job as a GS volunteer much easier!!!

  20. :

we did the journey on an overnite the girls loved it . it went well and the crafts made it so easy for the leaders We ran a journey for daisy’s brownies and juniors. All turned out well would do it again same way in a heart beat

  21. :

The kits received were exactly what I needed! We had 52 Juniors come to our Journey in a Day event. The girls loved getting a bag. There was only two things: I wish a had a small block to press for the homemade paper and I wish the lunch tote would have been bigger. By the time we folded and taped the bags, they could barely hold a sandwich. But the girls did not seem to mind and were ready for each activity! So glad I ordered and had this program for our Service Unit!

  22. :

Some fun activities that are new to the girls.

  23. :

This is an awesome and easy to follow journey. Everything is set up so that the badge is earned in an easy to follow, session by session format. I love it. I will purchase the journey in a bag again.

  24. :

I have done 7 Journeys. This Journey was not very clear. I am so glad that we ordered this kit! Very easy to understand. The girls loved it. Our troop will be ordering more kits in the future.
