Having been a British colony for over 150 years, English is widely spoken and many street signs, menus and website are in both English and traditional Chinese characters. English is not commonly spoken in China. Drivers in Hong Kong use the left lane while drivers in China use the right lane.
In Hong Kong football (soccer), rugby union, and cricket are popular while in China the top sports include table tennis, volleyball, and handball.
