Brownie Ideas for 2nd & 3rd Graders
There is so much you can do with your troop!
While badges are the classic way to go, your girls are at such a fun age where they’re ready to jump into just about anything! Now that they’ve moved up from Daisies to Brownies, they’ve got that “big kid” energy and are usually itching to try cooking, hands-on crafts, learn real-deal outdoor skills, or even gear up for their very first troop sleepover. Don’t feel like you have to stick strictly to the book—think of badges and patches as a starting point. Sometimes the best way to plan your year is to just head out on a local tour or a nature walk. If the girls can’t stop talking about it afterward, you’ll know exactly which badge or Patch Program® to pick next!
This is also the stage where you get to step back a little and let them take the wheel. It’s a blast watching them start to make their own decisions about what the troop does next. Whether they’re voting on which field trip to take or picking out a new project, you’re helping them find their confidence.
