Engaging Juniors with Leadership and Skill-Building
For Junior Girl Scouts (typically in 4th and 5th grade), activities transition from simple crafts to more complex, girl-led projects that foster independence and community impact. At this level, scouts are eligible to earn the Bronze Award, the highest honor a Junior can achieve, which encourages them to team up and solve a problem in their community. Troop leaders often focus on skill-building badges or engaging in hands-on STEM and outdoor adventures like camping. To keep this age group engaged, it is helpful to incorporate “fun patches” for everyday achievements.
