Who’s in Charge? Matching Game
$2.00
Earn your Magenta Petal by understanding respect for authority
How to Play (Three Ways)
Option A: The Scavenger Hunt
Hide the “Authority” cards around your meeting room. Give each girl (or small group) a “Place” card. They have to run (safely!) to find the person who is in charge of their specific location. Once they find their match, they bring it back to the circle.
Option B: The “Memory” Game
Lay all the cards face down on the floor. Girls take turns flipping over two cards to try and find a match (e.g., the Whistle/Ref matches the Soccer Field). When a match is made, the girl has to say why we respect that person.
Option C: “Authority Mix-Up”
Hand out the cards randomly. Tell the girls to move around the room and find their partner. To make it funny, ask them: “What would happen if the lifeguard were at the Library?” (The answer: She’d be blowing her whistle at people for being too quiet!) It helps them realize that authority figures have specific jobs for specific places.
