I agree with Tamara with the auction items. I needed up making my own so it was good for the ideas. My girls loved the work sheet for budgeting. Instead of the bank and the receipt bag I taught them about the envelope system from Dave Ramsey. I thought that was much more age appropriate.

No way my girl(s) would do the little bank or receipt bag. That’s a brownie activity. The worksheets for the auction and budget were helpful, but that’s all I could use. The auction items were not of interest- Selena Gomez is not really popular with this age group any more- they liked her 3-4 years ago. And auctioning baseball tickets- also not an interest. So although the idea was good, I had to rework everything. I would have returned for a refund, but I did use the auction and budget sheets. Still, that”s expensive for 3 sheets of paper.

Sorry you were disappointed. Can you give me more input? What kind of activities did you provide instead? We like to hear what the girls are into.

My girls are very busy with activities so I try very hard to put together meetings they will really enjoy and learn something. The bidding part was the best. They were fired up! It was my first time with these badge kits but will definitely order again. I am showing the girls the other badge kits and asking which ones they want to do.

My girls earned the Cadette Budget badge this past weekend using this Badge In a bag. The girls had a blast with the mock auction. Pretending to buy things they have always wanted. Many girls discovered real quick how fast money goes away. When we did the budgeting activity to show them how income and getting a good paying job are important, and budgeting for what you actually need verse what you want is important. They had fun making the bank and receipt bag. We started with bank so it gave time for paint to dry before putting stickers or decorations on bank. I would highly recommend this badge in a bag to your troop. Dealing with money is not the most fun as adults it was a great way to show and teach girls about the ins and outs of budgeting your money without boring them with a bank account and spreadsheets.

I love the idea that was packaged together, but wish you can have options of how many you want to buy at once. Say, single, 5, 12 and a few other options. I did think a few items like the bank and bag were a bit cheesy, but again, the general idea was good.
