Haitian cuisine is a mixture of French, African, Spanish and indigenous cooking methods, ingredients and dishes. Try this Haitian Boulette (Meatball) recipe.
You Need:
- Thinking Day Passport
- Printable Recipe Card
- 8 slices of white bread
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 8 slices of smoked bacon
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- 2 Tbl of tomato paste
- Salt, black and red pepper
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions:
Cut crusts off white bread. Cut bread into small cubes. Mix all the ingredients except oil in a large mixing bowl. Form meat mixture into 1″ balls. Preheat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet. Fry meatballs turning often until all sides are brown and inside is cooked through (about 12 – 15 minutes.)
Yield:
About 60 1″ meatballs.
