Step 1: Play a Wildlife Game
Looking for a stress-free, engaging activity to fulfill your Daisy Eco Learner step 1 requirements? This downloadable PDF worksheet makes teaching girls about local vs. global wildlife incredibly easy and fun.
Step 2: Keep living things safe when you walk in nature
Have the girls find a spot outdoors, lay a 3′ piece of yarn down in a circle on the ground, and look closely inside their circle to find “nature’s houses.”
- Gently lifting a rock or fallen log to check for beetles, pillbugs, or worm tunnels (remind them to carefully flip it back!).
- Examining the underside of leaves for tiny insect eggs or cocoons.
- Looking for spiderwebs between blades of grass or hidden inside tree bark.
Step 3: Learn how to protect nature from trash
Trash doesn’t belong in nature, and even small pieces of litter can be dangerous to wild animals. Teaching your Daisies how to properly handle waste ensures they leave outdoor spaces better than they found them!
Add a Craft
