Honor our veterans on Memorial Day. Place flags, participate in a parade or ceremony or spend the day honoring those still in service. This is a beautiful patch to add to your scouts’ uniforms in remembrance.

Suggestions for how Daisy* and Brownie* Girls can earn the Memorial Day Patch:

Participate in a Memorial Day event.
Attend one of the activities above or choose another event specially for Memorial Day. Discuss with your troop why it is important to honor those who died in the service of our country.

Suggestions for how Junior* and Cadette* Girls can earn the Memorial Day Patch:

Get others involved.
Attend one of the activities above or choose another event specially for Memorial Day. Invite others to join you such as your service unit, family, classmates or friends.

Suggestions for how Senior* and Ambassador* Girls can earn the Memorial Day Patch:

Focus on women.
Locate a woman (or women’s group) that has lost a spouse or child in the service of our country. Honor her on Memorial day. Your local American Legion or VFW chapter can help or you can search online. This is a good place to start: thespruce.com/support-organizations-for-military-widows-2357268

Suggested ways to honor a Gold Star woman:

• Offer to accompany her to an event or grave site
• Write a letter expressing your sympathy
• Make a small gift for her
• Post on a blog expressing compassion
• Offer to babysit for no charge
• Volunteer for a Gold Star organization
