Check your council for safety wise while working with knives. Remember that progression is important. Remember that scissors were introduced in stages, too. Girls of all ages should know knives are tools, not toys. Start younger girls off with blunt knives and simple tasks. Save pocket knives for last after girls have mastered knives that don’t also bend and fold. When your girls have demonstrated their knowledge of knife safety and have completed their first project, our patch will show they’ve mastered a new skill.

Get your girls outside! Kite flying could be a fun activity to get your girls outside when the weather is nice and the wind is blowing. Plan a beach clean up and bring kites for a little fun when the work is done. Add to the fun by having the girls make their own. This could be a fun family event too. The colorful Kite Flying patch will brighten up any vest.

Maybe they will be starting something new in your community that will make people smile. Your girls will love this patch when they have completed and placed their rocks!

Plan a kidnap breakfast with their parents and pick up the girls in their pajamas for a fun outing for breakfast! It’s as simple as that. The girls get no warning (unless a parent/ guardian feels it’s necessary). Leaders come wake up the girls at their homes and they come out to breakfast in their pajamas. As the cars get fuller, send in their sister scouts to wake up the next girl. Make it fun for leaders girls too by having those girls woken and picked up by a different leader! Remind them of the fun with this special patch.

Juliette’s Pancake Flipping Challenge is a fun activity, often part of Girl Scout events honoring founder Juliette Gordon Low, where participants flip pancakes (slightly overcooked ones work best) for points, aiming for the most flips without dropping, or seeing who can flip it highest, sometimes using paper plates for easier play, making it a simple test of skill and coordination. It’s a playful nod to her childhood, adapted into contests like relay races or high-flip challenges.

Get our embroidered 2″ Juliette Low Patch for your girls learning about their founder. This patch features a ring of her famous pearls around the border. Suggestions for our Patch Program® are below.
