Step 1: Learn the first steps to take in an emergency

Preventing emergencies is always your best option. When someone has a food allergy, it could be life-threatening. Fortunately, most people know if they have a food allergy and know what to do if they accidentally ingest something they shouldn’t. You can help by making food preparers aware with this poster.

Step 2: Find out how to handle urgent health situations

Step 3: Talk to first responders

By now your girls will know when to call 911 but do they know what happens after 911 is called?

It’s normal for anyone to feel nervous when calling for help, but knowing exactly what happens on the other side of the phone can help your scouts stay calm and collected.

Step 4: Make a portable aid kit

You can use small plastic pencil boxes, makeup bags, or even clear ziplock pouches for this project. Have the girls personalize their kits with stickers or drawing markers to make them unique.
