Easy Fleece Hat

One seam is all it takes to makeĀ a cozy winter hat from fleece. Fun and easy for Girl Scouts to make and donate a bunchĀ for a community service project and one for themselves. Girls can also make aĀ matching hat for their doll.
You need:
- 1/2Ā Yard of Fleece (will make 2 hats)
- Fabric Scissors
- Needle and Thread or Sewing Machine
Instructions:
CutĀ fleece to 16ā³ x 21ā³ so itĀ stretches the long way. Save the 1ā³ scrap.
Fold in half with right sides together. StitchĀ along the short ends to make a tube that will fit over your head. LeaveĀ the last 4ā³ unstitched. This will become part of your fringe. Cut 4ā³ slits every 3/4ā³ along this end.Ā Turn right-side out.
Cut a piece of scrap to 1″ x 8″. Gather fringes and tie tightly with scrapĀ piece. Roll bottom up twice to makeĀ band.
