Haitian Boulette Recipe

boulette_smallHaitian cuisine is a mixture of French, African, Spanish and indigenous cooking methods, ingredients and dishes. Try this Haitian Boulette (Meatball) recipe.

You Need:

  • Thinking Day Passport
  • Printable Recipe Card
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 slices of smoked bacon
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 Tbl of tomato paste
  • Salt, black and red pepper
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

Cut crusts off white bread. Cut bread into small cubes. Mix all the ingredients except oil in a large mixing bowl. Form meat mixture into 1″ balls. Preheat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet. Fry meatballs turning often until all sides are brown and inside is cooked through (about 12 – 15 minutes.)

Yield:

About 60 1″ meatballs.
