Planting a tree in your community is something your girls will remember for years.You can do a memorial tree planting, a commemorative tree planting, park tree planting, community entrance planting or any other idea you girls might have. Suggestions for how Daisy* and Brownie* Girls can earn the Tree Planting Patch:

Plant a tree.
Decide how you will pay for the tree. Maybe you will use troop funds or get a donation. Get some help from families for the tree planting day.

Suggestions for how Junior* and Cadette* Girls can earn the Tree Planting Patch:

Plant a tree for a cause.
Honor someone or a group of people. Invite them to attend the planting. Make up a ceremony to honor the celebration.

Suggestions for how Senior* and Ambassador* Girls can earn the Tree Planting Patch:

Get the community involved.
Set a goal to plant multiple trees in a special spot in your community. Decide how to fund the event. Involve younger troops if possible. Consider having refreshments after the planting ceremony. Maybe a plaque can be placed near the area to mark the spot. Make a commitment to maintain the area.

Cadette Girl Scouts Planting Trees

How will your Girl Scouts earn the tree planting patch? Troop 43564 has participated in their local Parks Appreciation Event for the past 6 years. Their troop has personally planted over 800 trees at Sehmel Park in Gig Harbor.
