This 2″ iron-on embroidered patch is part of our patch program®.
Suggestions for how girls can earn the Lemonade Stand Patch.
Make sure to discuss money-earning guidelines with your council before proceeding. This patch program can easily be tied into financial literacy badges, entrepreneurial badges and the Cadette Woodworking badge.
Before you begin:
1. Discuss with your troop where your lemonade stand might be located. Think of high-traffic areas like parks, community events, or outside local businesses. They should obtain any necessary permits or permissions required by their local authorities or property owners.
2. Create a posters or flyers to advertise their lemonade stand. You can use our printable which can be downloaded from your order confirmation or design your own. Ask business owners and community centers to place them on counters and in windows.
3. Decide if your troop will use fresh lemons, a mix or purchase premade lemonade. Decide if you will use sugar, an artificial sweetener or offer both. Consider doing a taste test. Price out each option. Help decide on a selling price.
4. Set a troop goal. Decide how the profits will be spent, saved or gifted.
5. Make a lemonade stand. Good ideas here for making them out of recycled pallets or you can use a decorated table.
6. Help bling your lemonade stand to make it more eye-appealing. Additionally, offering ice cubes or garnishes like fresh mint leaves or a lemon slice can enhance the overall lemonade experience.
7. Practice good customer service including greeting customers with a friendly smile, how to engage in conversation, and say thank you.
8. Use water to practice pouring and serving with spilling.
