The program was designed to provide economical, hands-on activities to enhance the girls’ experience and to make your time as a volunteer enjoyable and stress-free.
From your local store, you’ll want to pick up a copy of the Brownie Brownie Quest JOURNEY* book and set of awards for each girl. You’ll also need some basic craft supplies like scissors and glue. Everything else is included.

The Six Parts…
The first five parts can be done in 90 minutes each. You can finish each part during a meeting or plan day-long event or a troop sleep-over to the complete it in a weekend. The included activities will fulfill the JOURNEY* requirements and guide you and your girls to choosing a take action project. The sixth meeting is a celebration to be held after your take action project is complete.
The girls each get a mini scrapbook to hold her maze pages and other projects they complete along the way.

There needs to be a more economical way to order these for Juliettes or small troops. $38.50 + shipping with a $20 troop kit for 12 girls is expensive over kill for 2 girls.

I know it can be more than many troops want to spend. We worked very hard to provide the most economical bags that would fulfill the requirements, be easy for the leaders and provide activities the girls will love. If you divide it over the cost of 7 meetings, I think you will see that it is a good value.

Loved it! It was very well put together and perfect for our Cadettes who were also earning their LiA award at the same time during our Journey weekend. The steps were very clear and easy for them to follow. All we have left to do is our Take Action project!

I definitely recommend this Journey in a Bag. My brownies were originally bored by the amount of “school work” in the traditional GSUSA journey, so in an attempt to change it up I purchased these kits for my troop. Best idea possible! The girls loved how interactive it was and how relate-able and visual each of the lessons were. The did great working on their team work and working together to create their Take Action project which they are planning to finish next month. This allowed the journey to be more girl led (the way it should be) vs. leader led (the way the books tend to become). We will definitely be purchasing the other journeys in the future through this company.
As an added bonus, it was nice not have to create our own activities by myself. This kit came with a great general outline and crafts that relate to the topics. So it saved me a lot of time in the end. I did add a few additional activities to each of the sections just to bulk it up a little more.

My mostly 3rd graders really enjoyed this as their first journey. I loved that most of the supplies were in there and the ones that weren’t were easy to find at home. One bit of advice for leaders – break up the kits and organize them by session. It will make running each session go a lot faster when you can easily grab all the supplies at once. We did ours as a journey in a day for 9 girls. I highly recommend this kit!

I have had extreme success with the older girl journey kits. I decided to give the Brownie Quest Journey kit a try. I was disappointed with the simplicity of this kit. I can easily complete the tasks of the journey (which this guide kept referring to the girl journey that is purchased through Girl Scouts). I was looking for the same pattern that was in the Cadette journey kit. I needed the girls walked through the journey to help them come up with a take action project which is required to complete the journey. This journey kit does not have any “ideas” for your girls to brainstorm as a troop. They still have to do this totally on their own. The Cadette kits have tons of brainstorming ideas to get them planning. I was extremely disappointed in this kit since the take action projects for each journey are the hardest part to come up with and this kit did not follow through to the end in my opinion. Again, I am comparing this kit directly with a Cadette kit we purchased in the past and LOVED. It is sad that is costs $13 for shipping and expect you to return at your own cost to refund the purchase so in the end the troop loses $30. I read reviews before purchase on this kit that state the journey walked their girls through the whole process including the take action project but this is not true in the Brownie Quest Journey Kit.

I cant begin to tell you what a great idea this is. The instructions have taken the fear out of doing the journeys. My girls love shaking around the tube and guessing what is inside. We are starting to plan our project and the kit really helps you guide the girls in choosing a project.

Girls just finished the Journey, they loved all of it, I have 2 leaders under me they liked the lack of planning needed to accomplish the journey. I would recommend this kit to everyone. They went to a park to clean up we had some crazy weather this month its January and 55 degrees. I live in Ohio so that is crazy weather for us. Girls had lots of fun cleaning up the garbage, but one of my girls came to me and asked why people throw out so much garbage on ground when there was a garbage can right next to it. I explained to her that the wind and snow plows brought the garbage there, but it was a good question why people throw garbage on ground. She said when she grows up she will always use the garbage can. The things kids say, its a wonderful thing to hear these things from them. Being able to split the stories up in book with activities made it much better for the girls. Thanks for the kit!

I’m a troop leader and our girls just bridged up to Brownies so we are going to start off the new school year with the Brownie Quest. My assistant leader and myself debated for a few weeks about purchasing this. We finally decided to take a chance and ordered the troop kit plus 18 girl bags (yes, we are a large troop). It arrived 2 days ago and I was very impressed when I went through everything and read through the session plans. They match up very well with the Quest leader’s guide and significantly cut down on the amount of planning and prep work I’ll have to do during the busy school year. The girls will love the little crafts and activities. We are going to do the WOW journey in the spring and we’ll be purchasing the kits for that one as well.

I received the kit about a week after I ordered it. I was so pleased that everything was laid out for me in terms I could understand. As a school teacher I appreciated the group tasks and individual tasks for the girls. I even emailed and asked if they had these kits for when I move up to juniors. Guess what? They do! Can’t wait to use these products again next time. The girls had a really fun first session and can’t wait to come back to do the activities next time.

This makes the Journey so much easier especially with a large mulitlevel troop. One of our troop moms is guiding our 15 Brownies on their Journey and we both believe this is worth every penny. I am a girl scout leader and I have a total of 23 Browine’s and I am not sure I am understanding what all I am to buy. I need to buy the leader kit for $19.99 and it says it’s for 18 girls and then I have to buy 23 of the girl bags so that is one for each girl. But when I try and add the girl bags on it only goes up to 18 total. So how do I get enough bags for my troop with out having to pay another $19.99 for the leaders kit again. I’m not sure if I am understanding what all I am to buy for my troop to complete this journey. Please explain it to me I have a total of 23 browine’s and I need enough of the product to complete this journey with my girls. Thank you so much for all of your help. My troop of first and second year Brownies is very active and have earned a lot of skills, legacy and fun patches. No one was interested in starting a Journey. It’s too much like school work. We had no inspiration and were accepting that we would not work towards Summit awards. When I decided to try the Journey in a Bag….. WOW!! They we’re all lined up at the tables, interested in the supplies, checking correlating the stories in their books and wrote in their planners the steps at each of the next 5 meetings. I am thinking this is going to work out great. We are even discussing our next Journey in a Bag.

Well, I had already planned our Brownie QUEST when I found this site. I was so hoping this kit would fit into our plans- but it just didn’t work out for us. We used the beach ball, though. And we will use the tube at a later time.

We have not finished the Journey yet but the girls are star clapper crazy, always looking for a reason to use them. They love the mini scrapbook and thought the paper flowers were very pretty. So far everything has been a hit and they cannot wait to see what is next. The price paid was really worth it. I love that everything is in one place. I’m a busy mom and do not always have time to go shopping for all materials we will need. This lifted a weight off my co-leader’s and I shoulders. We ordered two more badge in a bags for our Encampment.

We just finished our journey in a bag in one day. The girls really enjoyed it. We started the World of Girls journey and the girls really didn’t get into it. So I decided to try the journey in the bag for Wonders of Water and the girls had a blast. The girls were more into the journey. They really enjoyed the activities that the journey in a bag supplied. I loved that I didn’t have much planning to do and that it kept the girls interest. The girls picked a take action project and were eager to plan it and make the posters to let people know what they were planning to do. Such a great help for a first year troop leader that is a full time worker. I will be purchasing the Brownie Quest journey in a bag kit next. I would recommend this to other troop leaders having difficulty keeping girls interested in the journey.

My daughter’s troop does not follow “traditional standards” of badges. Is there a way to order this for a single Brownie? It appears that the Leader Kit is for 18 scouts but we don’t have a need for so much.

My assistant troop leader and I decided to try the leadership quest in a badge because we both also work full time and our girls are quite a rambunctious group. We were pleasantly surprised with the materials provided, and the girls really enjoyed the quest. We will likely be purchasing the other two brownie quests as well from here – very little preparation on our part and the girls still successfully completed their quest!
