Endangered vs. Threatened

An “endangered species” is one that is in danger of extinction. A “threatened species” is one that is likely to become endangered in the foreseeable future.

Plan a trip to a local conservation center, a zoo or a beekeeper to observe endangered and threatened animals. Choose a specific endangered or threatened animal and find out about its habitat, its behaviors, and the reasons it is endangered.

Creative Advocacy:
Express your commitment creatively. Create a poster, video, artwork or dance that highlight the beauty and importance of the species you choose. Share these creation with your troop mates.

Get Involved
What can you do to help? Choose a project to participate in. The World Wildlife Federation has ideas. Ask a friend or family member to join you.
