Suggestions for how younger girls can earn the Healthy Cooking patch:

  1. Choose a meal or snack to make with your group. Are there are any food allergies? This is a good opportunity to discuss it with your troop.
  2. If possible, take the group shopping for the supplies. If you are completing this patch virtually, divide the supplies into zipper bags for the families to pick up or ask the parents to get the supplies before the meeting time. These interesting sandwiches are good choices for virtual meals with less parental involvement.
  3. Prepare the meal and enjoy eating it with your group.
  4. Discuss what you liked or didn’t like about the meal or snack. Will you make it again?
