Here are some ideas for earning this patch:

Choose a birthday related service project.

Ask around in your community. Your local food pantries, shelters, hospitals, school nurses are a good place to start. Find out if programs exist or find out if you can start a new program (opportunity for a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award idea here!) There are many national and international birthday programs. Join in with one of them or use some of their ideas to kick off your own program.

Make Birthday Cards and Banners
Sending birthday messages to sick or lonely people can really brighten their day. Spend a meeting making cards, invite friends and family to join you or even have a community event.

Donate Birthdays in a Box
Families in crisis cannot always provide the basics needed for giving their child a happy birthday. Put together boxes of cake mix, frosting and candles to donate to shelters or food pantries. You can add other items like a small gift or paper goods. Do a drive outside you local supermarket or place donation boxes around the neighborhood. The Confetti Foundation has a wish list for supplies needed to make their birthday boxes for hospitalized children.

Host a Birthday Party
Find someone in your community with a birthday this month. It could be special needs child, a child who is new to the neighborhood, a senior turning 100 years old, a child in a shelter or anyone who would normally not be having a big celebration. Throw a special party they will always remember. You could also pledge to throw monthly parties at your local VA hospital or assisted living and include everyone who has a birthday that month. Check with the Birthday Party Project. They throw parties for homeless children and there are opportunities to join with them.

Set a Goal.

Set a troop goal or individual goals and make a contract to reach it.

Juliette’s Pancake Flipping Challenge Patch

How to Play:

Prep: Make pancakes, ensuring they’re slightly firm (not too runny).
Equipment: Each player gets a pancake and a paper plate or a small pan.
Objective:
Most Flips: See who can flip their pancake the most times consecutively on their plate without dropping.
Highest Flip: Compete to see who can toss their pancake the highest and catch it.
Relay Race: Teams flip pancakes back and forth or to a target.
Variations:
Play “Juliette Says” (like Simon Says), adding commands like “Juliette says flip it high!”.
Incorporate other activities like decorating hats or learning ASL to honor Juliette.

Bridging Fun Patch

Here are some suggestions for your girls to plan their Bridging Ceremony and earn the Bridging 2025 Patch

Opening Ceremony: Begin the ceremony with a flag ceremony, reciting the Girl Scout Promise, and singing a Girl Scout song.
Candle Lighting: Use candles to symbolize the parts of the Girl Scout Law. Each girl can light her candle from a central flame, or turn on their battery operated candle, and read one line of the law.
Court of Awards: Have the girls talk about their accomplishments since the girls prior court of awards and present their final badges and patches for the current level.
Involving Older Scouts: Traditionally older Girl Scouts participate to help the girls bridge during their ceremony. Ask the girls if they have a Junior or older troop they would like to include in their ceremony.
Bridging: There are several different types of bridging ceremonies the girls can choose from. You can find some suggestions in the Ceremonies category of our blog page.
Closing Song: Teach the girls a new Girl Scout song that they can perform together as a group to close their ceremony. Encourage participation and enthusiasm.
Refreshments: Your girls may want to plan a meal, snacks or a cake. What kind of drinks would they like served, coffee and tea, water, juice or punch are common.
Invitations: Now that they’ve planned their ceremony, they need to decide who to invite and make invitations.

Remember to tailor the ceremony to fit your specific troop’s needs and preferences. Adapt and customize these ideas to create a meaningful and memorable rededication ceremony for your Girl Scout troop.
