Only half the troop showed up to each trip. Should I allow the ones that didn&#8217;t show up earn the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.patchfun.com\/\">fun patch<\/a><\/strong> as well? If their parents make up the trip by themselves? If the parents take the girls to the event\/activity separately, then the parents can pay for the patch. However, I have made some exceptions on a case by cas<\/span><\/span><span data-reactid=\".43.1:5:1:$comment865044766866445_865054693532119:0.0.$right.0.$left.0.0.1.$comment-body.0.3\"><span data-reactid=\".43.1:5:1:$comment865044766866445_865054693532119:0.0.$right.0.$left.0.0.1.$comment-body.0.3.0\"><span data-reactid=\".43.1:5:1:$comment865044766866445_865054693532119:0.0.$right.0.$left.0.0.1.$comment-body.0.3.0.$end:0:$text0:0\">e basis &#8211; for example, a local archaeological site has a &#8216;Scout Day&#8217; once a year. I encourage the girls to go with their families because of the nature of the event. So the troop will pay for the patches if they can show me their entrance ticket (proof that they went). Pointless to have patches for events they didn&#8217;t attend. I always remind my girls (and parents) that we aren&#8217;t having a contest to see who has the most patches! When they did, they could always purchase their own patches or wear them if awarded as part of the program. But the financial aspects of attending the programs were fully on the parents as were the awards. <\/span><span data-reactid=\".43.1:5:1:$replies865044766866445_865045866866335:0.1:2:$comment865044766866445_865050053532583:0.0.$right.0.$left.0.0.1.$comment-body.0.3.0.$end:0:$text4:0\">If the troop worked on a Brownie patch during the program, those who did not attend should have the opportunity to turn in make-up work to fulfill the requirements. <\/span><span data-reactid=\".43.1:5:1:$replies865044766866445_865045866866335:0.1:2:$comment865044766866445_865050053532583:0.0.$right.0.$left.0.0.1.$comment-body.0.3.0.$end:0:$text8:0\">Incidentally, if a girl did not show, who committed to do so, our troop asked the parent to pay back what the troop paid. If the child was clearly ill or had an extenuating circumstance then they would be excused.
