Our Facebook leaders have tons of ideas for summer time troop field trips!
Valerie’s trips planned: Camping, drive in movies, ceramic making, build a bear, strawberry or apple picking and a baseball game. These are a few of the trips my troop of 29 will be doing this summer.
Colleen’s idea: You might want to tie your trips to your journey to get the girls excited or to do some of the requirements now… ie explore a fish hatchery with brownies doing wow, an art gallery for juniors doing amuse, a farm for seniors doing breathe, etc. Not only will you accomplish part of the book not as book work but keep the kinetic learning happening throughout the summer.
Dawn write’s: Camping, of course. Museums, aquariums, zoos, all are great but if your on a budget or just have daisies, try a day trip to the park and do s’mores on a grill or art in the park.
Kelly’s help: Anything with water (water slides, pools) but remember you have to have a lifeguard. Most water parks and public pools do. Or water balloons, spray parks don’t need one. We have a local observatory where you can look through their big telescopes then camp out to watch the meteor showers in August. We are having our July meeting at a park and having them bring their bikes, scooters or roller skates. Outdoor movies: drive ins or movies in the park, outdoor concerts in the park.
Deborah: Taking hikes, going on local tours that you cannot attend during the school year. Berry picking is also great fun!
Terri & Crystal agree: We used Groupon and are at Great Wolf Lodge now! Groupon has great offers.
Brenda wrote: Local shops will do awesome “behind the scenes” tours. Jamba Juice, pizza, newspapers, girl’s clothing shops, grocery stores.
