I have been a leader for 4 years now. I started being a leader to help my child make new friends, not to cling to me so much, to become more independent and not so shy. But she still tends to stick close to me rather than do things without me. When we go to events I must be there right there helping in each class she's in or she will not participate ends up crying and wanting to be with me, she is now a Cadette and I still have the same problem. I have tried signing up as a volunteer at events so Iam in a different class that she's not in and I end up having that volunteer bring her to me because she will not stop crying. I have tried several things such as assigning buddies, working in groups, but none of it seems to improve her overall confidence. Anyone have any other ideas I can try in or out of scouting?
