Blue & Gold Chinese Lantern Centerpiece
Capture the exotic look of the far east for you Blue & Gold dinner.

You need:

• Chinese Lantern Kit
• Blue and Gold Acrylic Paint
• Foam Brush
• Low Temp Glue Gun
• Serrated Knife
• Magnetic Flashing Buttons (Optional for Darker Room)

-or-

• Chinese Lantern
• 3" Styrofoam Ball
• Blue and Gold Acrylic Paint
• Foam Brush
• Three Bamboo Sticks
• Two Tinsel Pipe Cleaner
• Two Craft Foam Circles
• Brass Fasteners
• Low Temp Glue Gun
• Two Small Vinyl Cut Outs for Scouts
• Serrated Knife
• Magnetic Flashing Buttons (Optional for Darker Room)

Instructions:

Ask an adult to cut the styrofoam in half using a serrated knife. Use bamboo stick to poke a deep hole in the top center of each half. Paint the styrofoam blue. Paint the bamboo gold. Let dry. Glue a bamboo stick into each hole. 

Glue a fleur-de-lis to each blue foamie circle. Open up the lantern. Glue a circle to each side of the lantern. Slide the lantern onto the third bamboo stick. Glue that stick to the tops of the other two sticks. (See photo above). Warp pipe cleaner around glued joint to help secure sticks. 

Stick an optional magnetic flasher to the inside rim if your room is darker for a really cool blinking blue and gold effect.
