String 37 blue beads on a one yard piece of monofilament.
Slide the first bead onto an 1/8" dowel. Tie the monofilament
to the dowel. Skip the next bead and slide every other bead onto the dowel. Snug the beads
up together and the pull monofilament tight.
Add another bead and string the monofilament though the first bead
not on the dowel. Pull tight.
Add another bead and string the monofilament though the next bead
not on the dowel. Pull tight snugging the bead up underneath the bead on the dowel.
Continuing beading in this manner. After stringing the last bead,
loop the monofilament up and through the first bead on the dowel as shown in picture on
the right.
Pull tight, snugging the beads together. Continue beading following
the pattern provided. When your monofilament gets down to about 3" tie on another one
yard piece -- triple knotting and pulling very tight to keep it from slipping. Ends can be
woven in to the design.
Finish by gluing a barrel bead to each end of the dowel. Tie a 2'
piece of satin cord to both ends. Tie on two gold beads on each end. Trim.
