Dough Top Jars  You Need:
- Clean Glass or Plastic Jar with Lid
- Flour/Salt Dough
- Misc.Items for Decorating Lids
- Cookie Sheet
Instructions:
Remove lid from jar and place on cookie sheet.
Mold a large handful of Flour/Salt Dough into ball making
sure there are no trapped air bubbles. Place the dough ball on the lid. Press down and
shape the dough to cover the entire lid including the sides. Mold into a dome as shown or
choose your own shape. Press decorative items firmly into dough.
Flour/Salt Dough can be air
dried or baked. Air drying can take several weeks. Baking times will vary. Large pieces
like these lids can take up to 2 hours at 250°. Remove before they start to turn brown.
If you are using plastic items such as buttons or beads for decoration, bake at 125° for
several hours. Watch for any sign of melting plastic and remove immediately. If dough is
not completely set, you can finish by air drying. |
