Shannon Writes:
Wondering if anyone provides incentives for Girl Scouts wearing uniform to events and meetings maybe badges or other recognition?

“We do Brownie Bucks. Girls earn them each week for attendance, uniforms worn, supplies brought, and dues paid. We use nut money and cookie money to pay for stuff to go into a little shop for them where they can redeem their bucks for all sorts of goodies. My girls just LOVE it!” Laura
“Yes, I give each girl a scout buck for wearing their uniforms. Uniforms are required at all meetings. At the end of the scouting year they can turn the scout bucks in for prizes.” Jolene
” If they are on time, bring their books/supplies, bring dues and are in uniform we give them a star.. Each item is worth a colored star – All items = gold; 3 items = silver etc. At the end of a period of time the girls with the most gold stars gets a prize; the girl with the most silver gets a lesser item etc. ” Jan
” We have done raffle tickets and do drawings every three months…older girls and bigger prizes to make them want to win.” Michelle
“Girl Scouts. They should be proud of being a Girl Scout and that includes the uniform. During meetings, only vests or sashes are required. For ceremonies, etc. Kahki pants, shirt and vest. If they are in the color guard, white gloves. No street clothes are allowed. If they don’t have the pants, a dress or skirt will be okay.” Susan
“Our rule is each parent must be onsite for cookie sales. Parents are there to safe guard the girls and to make sure that the cookie count is done correctly and that money isn’t an issue for the girls. I have daisy to juniors.” Tera
” Attendance chart … when they attend they get a blue or red star – when they attend in part of their uniform ( troop tshirt ) they get a silver star … in full uniform they get a gold star. Immediate reward, bragging rights, and inexpensive for the Leader. The girls track it themselves.” Lynne
” In the past I have when I used Brownie Bucks. I am going to start again this year; I have a prize bucket that they can earn points to get something for one of which will be bringing their vest. I sew most of my troops patches/badges on and that is sometimes the only time I actually see the vest.” Amy
